sisterhood stories

Happy Memorial Day, friends! Historian, Ashley Steiner here. This summer I’ve been dwelling on ways to bring our sisters together while we’re spread out all over the world for the next few months. I miss my girls, and I know I’m not alone! I kept thinking back to memories our sweet sisterhood has brought me over the past two years, and how fun it would be for our sisters to share their ZTA stories with one another and with you. Over the next weeks and months, we will be sharing our favorite sisterhood stories, memories, and testimonies here on the blog. ZTA has brought us blessing upon blessing in many different ways! Though all of our experiences have been different, we have the privilege of sharing the same sisterhood. So get excited & let the stories begin!!

senior send-off // a zeta farewell

This weekend, our forty-one senior sisters graduated from Samford University! We are oh so very proud of them, and we can’t wait to see where the future takes them. From teachers and nurses to business-women and grad-school students, our girls are headed all over the country to explore new adventures. Though we are sad to see them leave, we know they have big things ahead!

Crowned Devotional – feat. final exams

The only thing standing between you & summer break is final exam week. Let that settle in for a minute. We’re almost there!! The end of spring semester brings some of the busiest, most stressful, sleepless, & overwhelming times–but TAKE HEART!

Psalm 59:10 says, “God will go before me.”

I have a Bob Goff “Love Does” daily calendar sitting on the desk in my dorm room, & this very verse was Bob’s bit of inspiration for me today. Schedules this time of year are crazy–especially in the midst of trying to balance studying & fitting in times with friends before leaving for the summer. Through it all, Jesus reminds me that even in my most stressed out moments, God has gone before me! His ways are SOVEREIGN & He has big plans. He is not leaving us, nor forsaking us–even when we’re drowning in homework before we can even start studying for final exams. Trust me, I’ve been there too.

All your hard work these last few months are well worth it, & you’re almost done! (ALL the praise hands!!)

Your friends, family, & ZTA sisters believe in you–but more than anyone, God believes in you too. He’s on your team & He’s rooting for you all the way to the finish line. So let’s finish strong in strength that comes from Him alone. God goes before you & He’s leading you the whole way!

Best of luck on exams & happy almost summer!

xx, Ashley

dad’s weekend

It was SO nice to have our ZTA dads in Birmingham this past weekend! Friday and Saturday were filled with fun activities for our sisters and their dads to enjoy together.

On Friday night, sisters and dads dined at Chipotle to support our philanthropy. 50% of restaurant sales from that night benefitted it! After dinner, everyone enjoyed ice cream and board games back at the ZTA house. Saturday started out early with “donuts with dad.” In the afternoon, there was a tailgate at the ZTA house before the Samford baseball game. That night, sisters and their dads ate dinner and enjoyed a fun photo booth!

With the semester at its busiest and finals coming up soon, having our dads come in town could not have been a better break. Special thanks to Katherine Saunders for planning this awesome weekend!
